Injury Analysis

A Comprehensive Approach to Understanding Automobile Accident Statistics & Injuries

Consultation with Medical Professionals

Impact Research works closely with medical doctors and trauma experts to evaluate injury modes, treatment costs, and long term outcome considering injury tolerance and mechanisms for typical and at risk populations including children and the elderly.

Leveraging Test Results

We routinely draw from car accident statistics, crash test data (including regulatory and consumer tests), and post-mortem test results to determine loading, fracture, and soft tissue injury modes most commonly observed during motor vehicle crashes.

Multi-Disciplinary Expertise

Our injury analysts work closely with data analysis staff to determine causes and risks of specific injury types using emergency department, hospital, and trauma data collections.

Diagnosis & Severity

We routinely analyze and link injury data and have extensive experience using a variety of injury coding methods including AIS and ICD.

Diverse Medical Research Support

Our research team maintains close ties with the medical research staff at the William Lehman Injury Research Center at the Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, FL. This collaborative program with the WLIRC offers our clients a wide spectrum of support.

Simulation Tools

When necessary, we utilize Finite Element and Rigid Body simulation tools including LS-DYNA and PamCrash as well as rigid body tools like ATB and MADYMO to better understand injury mechanism and to evaluate alternate safety designs or loading scenarios.
